Publish Your First Video Wallpaper
In this tutorial you'll upload a single video file and publish it as a fullscreen looping wallpaper.
What you need
- A video file (
.mp4or.webm) - The Fluxlay desktop app
- A Fluxlay account
Videos play muted, looped, and autoplaying — no audio is bundled. Re-encode to 1080p or lower before uploading to keep file sizes reasonable.
1. Open the app and sign in
Open the settings window. Click Sign in if you aren't already signed in.
2. Open the upload screen
In the settings sidebar, choose Upload. Leave the tab on New wallpaper.

3. Pick your video
Click the file picker and select your video (e.g. background.mp4).
4. Fill in the form
| Field | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Slug | my-video-wallpaper | URL identifier. Cannot change later. |
| Name | My Video Wallpaper | Display name in the store. |
| Version | 0.1.0 | Default is fine for a first release. |
| Description | A looping video wallpaper. | Optional. |
| Tags | cinematic, loop | Optional. |
5. Upload
Click Upload. Wait for the progress bar to reach Done.
